OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the Center of Excellence in Biodiversity are
 Increase the number of researchers with Bachelors, Master's, and Ph.D. degrees in Biodiversity who will be capable of fulfilling academic, private, and governmental needs

 
 Facilitate the collaboration of scientists and researchers in Biodiversity who are working in interdisciplinary teams to define and solve complex problems relating to natural studies.
Respond to the demands of the private sector, governmental and academic need for a more highly trained human resource base, a greater intellectual exchange, and a sophisticated technology transfer, thus enhancing the ability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as a nation, to compete in the global economy

 
 Establish stronger ties with highly specialized international scientists for larger and more advanced projects

 
 Provide high quality research seminars for its members and other interested parties

 Organize occasional workshops to promote communication and collaboration in the development of new research initiatives.

 Disseminate information through its newsletter and bulletin board in addition to facilitating communication through occasional social gatherings

 
 Co-ordinate research grant applications and to act as an umbrella organization for research applications

 
 Organize scholarship applications thereby attracting national and international graduate students and developing postgraduate teaching programs

 
 Contribute to the development of undergraduate curricula and teaching in Biodiversity

 
 Develop a high public relations profile outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

 
 Actualize the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a preeminent leader in multi-national research programs

 
 Produce long-term data recording the consequences of the changes in the field of Biodiversity in the Kingdom.
