The submitted proposal is concerned with the establishment of a Center of Excellence for Research in Biodiversity at the College of Science, King Saud University. The proposal aims at setting up a plan for structuring the center of excellence that will provide synergistic and interactive programs in research, collaboration, information and technology transfer, and launch new initiatives to address the changing needs of our society. The Center of Excellence will support short and long-term research and development leading to potential breakthroughs in Biodiversity field. The center will support, promote, and develop the research capabilities and professional activities and offer assistance to the establishments and sectors which in need to the Center's experience, facilities and laboratories. The center will support collaboration between the scientist and researchers to work closely with national and international institutions, allowing significant advances to be made in Biodiversity research. The center is primarily concern and committed to train and educate young researchers to fulfill university, governmental, and private sector needs.
